I was born and raised in Spain which makes me a firm believer and follower of the Mediterranean diet as I grew up with it.
I have done nutrition counseling and I taught adult nutrition in Adult Day Care Centers. At present I have my own nutrition counseling business in the city of Montebello, where I teach people how to eat to lose weight and prevent diabetes type 2 as well as how to manage high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

The four messages of my book: 1. Lack of disease prevention can be very costly for you, both in physical and financial suffering.
2. Enjoying excellent health, including a healthy heart, does not mean deprivation or sacrifices. You can have your health and enjoy delicious meals at the same time. In other words, you can have your cake and eat it, sort of speak. Mediterraneans do it all the time and they are well known for being some of the healthiest people on earth.
3. The Mediterranean diet is very easy to follow. In "Your Heart Needs the Mediterranean Diet" I concentrate in three countries, Spain, Italy, and Greece. Foods such as olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, dry beans, fish, fruits and vegetables, nuts, the foundation of the diet in those countries, can be obtained at your local supermarket. You will find in the book delicious Mediterranean recipes that are very easy to prepare.
4. The Mediterranean diet is more than just utilizing certain ingredients or recipes that no doubt contribute to your good health. It is also about gathering with family, friends, and coworkers to enjoy a meal that can be a feast for the senses. And do not forget walking. In fact, without walking there is no Mediterranean Diet.
